我的四十年染织土布工作回想

摘要：

　　During forty years of fieldwork in Chinese villages,the most attractive visual for me was the indigo cloth.Compared with the festive red,it is subtle and quiet; an everyday color.From wax resist indigo in Guizhou,to stitch-resist dye in Yunnan,to the blue and white cloth in the canal towns of Suzhou,indigo is the color of the Chinese.
