Characterization of ambient ozone precursors in the Pearl River Delta : Observation, regression and source apportionment of VOCs
1.Introduction The Pearl River Delta (PRD),located in the southern part of Guangdong Province,is one of the most developed city clusters in China.The rapid expansion of factories and the increase in the number of vehicles over the past three decades have caused severe air pollution problems in the PRD,and high levels of ground-level ozone have been frequently reported (Yuan,Chen et al.2012).VOCs are important precursors of ozone.
