Binder-free N-doped graphene air-cathode for microbial fuel cells

1.Introduction Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) have been developed as an innovative technology to convert pollutant into electricity.Exoelectrogenic bacteria grown on anode oxidize substrates and produce electron which is transferred to cathode via external circuit.Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR)occurs on the surface of air-cathode with readily available oxygen in air, without the need ofaeration.
