Modeling of the inhibition of thiamethoxam on aerobic granular sludge
Introduction Aerobic granular sludge was a special case of biofilm composing of self-immobilized cells.Compared with the conventional activated sludge,aerobic granular sludge has many advantages,such as high biomass retention,excellent settleability,dense and strong microbial structure and ability to withstand at high organic loading.Mathematical modeling is a very useful tool for studying complex processes in the activated sludge wastewater treatment system.Some modeling reseaches have been conducted on aerobic granular sludge.However,a mathematic model to describe the removal and inhibition mechanism of toxic substances in an aerobic-granule-based SBR is still limited.
