Oxidative degradation of levofloxacin by permanganate in water:Kinetics, pathways, and impacts of co-existing materials
Introduction Levofloxacin (LF) is a third-generation fluoroquinolone for oral and intravenous administration. It undergoes limited metabolisms in human body, and 80-85% will be excreted via urine. In Tennessee River, its concentrations were detected as 6.2-59.3 ng L-1,and in the secondary effluent of Japanese wastewater treatment plants, its concentrations were detected as 189-400 ng L-1.
