Removal of pharmaceuticals from membrane effluent by electro-peroxone process

1.Introduction Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) have been identified as hotspots for the release of pharmaceuticals into the aquatic environment.Due to the inefficiency of conventional wastewater treatment for pharmaceutical removal,a great number of pharmaceuticals that enter WWTPs from different sources (e.g.,industrial effluents,household wastewater,and storm water runoff) can stillbe detected in secondary effluents that are to be discharged into the aquatic environment.
