Development of a New Instrument for High Temperature Mechanical Properties of Resin Sand
The high temperature mechanical properties of resin sand mixtures is directly related to the quality of casting.However, no matter from the perspective of test item or atmosphere, most of the existing instrument for the high temperature performance was aim at inorganic (chemical) binder sand.The high temperature performance instrument aimed at the resin sand is not yet available.Therefore, a new high temperature performance instrument for the resin sand was designed in this study.It include the detection of the test item, the design of the frame shape,furnace, loading system, measurement system, control system and software system.This instrument can detect high temperature compressive strength, high temperature heat tolerance time and restraining load of phenol-formaldehyde resin coated sand, furan resin self-setting sand and the TEA resin sand after the adjustment.The instrument has higher accuracy.The high temperature compressive strength range is 0-6.8 MPa and the measurement accuracy is better than 0.3% of full scale.The restraining load range is 0-2000 N and the measurement accuracy is better than 0.3%of full scale.The high temperature heat tolerance time range is 0-300 s and the measurement accuracy is better then1s.All data of resin sand samples have high accuracy.The variation coefficient is under 10%.This instrument has application value.
