Research on Kinetics of Binding Process of Moulding Sands with Chemical Binders Based on Ultrasonic Technique
The paper presents results of the investigation of setting kinetics of moulding sands with chemical binders.The investigations were performed by means of ultrasonic method elaborated by the author.The investigations can be done directly on a stand of preparation of sands, cores and moulds, or in a laboratory.The measurements are fully automated and computer-aided.The velocity of the ultrasonic wave in the sands with chemical binders depends on the degree of the setting process.For this reason, after measuring the velocity wave,one can evaluate the evolution of the setting process at any moment.In this paper the use of the elaborated method is presented for sands with organic binders and with water-glass.
