A Study of Medical Ventilator QA with MPM and Its Application in the Hospital
Objective: In this article,we demonstrate a new multi-parameter method (MPM) applied in medical ventilator to evaluate its safety,accuracy and reliability.Compared with single-parameter method (SPM),this method can provide clinical medicine engineers with valid reference evaluation system for using and selecting medical ventilator of different types.Methods: The total number of the chosen medical ventilators was 60.These devices were aged from 1 year to 6years.The volume,pressure,O2% alarm and so on were detected in 6 different setups of medical ventilators.Results: In MPM,60 machines are tested.All 60 test results are obtained successfully.In SPM,5 out of 60 test results are not obtained because of ventilators unstable working condition.The probability of obtaining test results successfully in SPM is 95% which is lower than that in MPM.In addition,when tidal volume is 100 mL,deviation of Evita4 and NPB840 is relatively bigger than others.Conclusion: Through lots of practice,MPM has been proved to be efficient and useful in performance test of medical ventilator.
