Mechanism of floor heave control using pre-cut channel
1 Introduction The statistics show that 60％～75％ of the roof-to-floor displacements are caused by floor heave1 and that floor heave always occurs during face advance.Whether or not the roadway floor heave occurs and the intensity of floor heave are not only related to the stress distribution in the, and support of, roadway floor, but also the mechanical properties of the surrounding rocks2.Therefore, there are many reasons for the floor heave, and it is more difficuh to eliminate floor heave than to support the ribs and roof of the roadway.
