Fully-mechanized top coal caving inclined slicing along the strike mining technique in steeply dipping extra thick spontaneous combustible coal seam

  The primary mineable coal seam in Panel 37220 of Dongxia Coal Mine has the characteristics of steeply dipping (55°~74°), extra thick (19.6m), easily combustible (the spontaneous combustion period is 37d), and complicated parting structure.In order to increase the recovery rate of coal resource, solve the coal mining technology problems for coal seams of similar occurrence and for the purpose of safe and efficient production, Panel 37220 adopts the fully-mechanized-top-coal-caving-inclined-slicing-along-strike longwall mining method.Research was initiated to study systematically the topics of equipment selection and compatibility, roadway layout, strata behavior and top coal movement, stress distribution in surrounding rocks and support stability, mining technique, and safety measures.Field application shows that the maximum output per panel is up to105kt/month with productivity 33.5 t/ (d · man), coal recovery rate 89.7%, roadway drivage ratio 2.5m/kt, and production cost 120.95 yuan (RMB)/t which is lower than that of the mining by top coal caving.The technique established in this paper provides a successful example in overcoming the main technical problems and realizes high efficiency of fully mechanized top-caving in steeply dipping (55°) thick coal seam.
