Risk assessment and investigation on Wongawilli goafs in Shendong mining area

  The Wongawilli mining method has been playing important role in comer block mining and achieving efficient production in Shendong mining area.While it has become one of most important influencing factors to threat the safety production due to the no long term stable pillars and large scale goafs roof collapse.Based on the investigation and detection, 154 wongawilli goafs have been found among 11 coalmines in Shendong mining area and the range has reached 29.05 km2.There exist four hazard types, they are important buildings on surface,communications towers or pylons on surface, highways on surface and mining surrounding hidden hazards.According to 20 geology and mining influence factors, the Wongawilli goafs hazard classification evaluation index was established and 5 risk grading classification was divided.Among 154 Wongawilli goafs, 2 goafs belong to classⅡ major risk and 19 goafs belong to class Ⅲ greater risk.Examples show that the risk grading classification method is reasonable, and the risk assessment is practical.
