Crack of rock mass and grouting based on ultrasonic testing

  On account of the fact that ultrasonic testing has the characteristic of high-efficiency, low request for rock shapes and accurate test results of rock strength, the crack of rock mass and grouting process were simulated through laboratory test.The ultrasonic velocity of rock mass with different kinds of crack widths was measured using ultrasonic testing technology.The change rules of ultrasonic velocity were contrasted in grouting and non-grouting states, in dry and wet states.The results show that the ultrasonic velocity varies a lot in different lithology rocks and also changes in the same lithology rock.The ultrasonic velocity of limestone is the highest, followed by sandstone, finally mudstone.The ultrasonic velocity reduces with the increase of crack width and also with the increase of water content in the same crack width.Compared with non-grouting, the ultrasonic velocity increases obviously after grouting.The results confirm that using ultrasonic to test the wave velocity in rock is an effective method for evaluating the effect of grouting reinforcement of fractured rock mass.
