A UHV Transmission Line Protection Based on the Multi-frequency Information

  In this paper, aiming to the feature of the UHV distance relay easily affected by the series capacitor compensator and the larger distributed capacitance, the theoretical analysis of the characteristics of the free oscillation frequency components caused by the distributed capacitance, has been done.Then, the relationship armong the free oscillation frequency component and fault location, fault time, fault type, grounding resistance have been analyzed.The free oscillation frequency component information is broughf into power frequency protection, and a comprehensive multi-frequency component based on the new criterion for line protection is proposed.The actual line parameters is used in the simulation, combining information from multiple frequency components from various angles to form a comprehensive protection thought various information advantages, the protection criterion is immune to system operation, the load current and other effects, and is suit for the UHV transmission lines containing the series compensator, and the data source can be aggregated from the unit of intelligent station, simple and practical.
