Adaptive Line Current Differential Relay for Two-Phase Transmission Line
Two-phase unbalance power transmission line for electric traction substation has been widely applied in power system with rapid improvement of the electric railways in China.This paper analyzes the influences of two-phase transmission line on conventional relay protection device and figures out the disadvantages of it based on the comparison of the topological structure and operation characteristics of two-phase transmission line and traditional three-phase transmission line Based on the comparison, this paper proposes a new phase adaptive line current differential relay which contains self-adaptive phase current differential relay and neutral current differential relay.This new differential relay can greatly increase relays action speed with high reliability and the stability of the power system and reliability of the traction system can also be enhanced.Meanwhile, a two-phase transmission line simulation model is built by the RTDS to verify the new relays authenticity.The simulation result illustrates that this new current differential relay can satisfy different kinds of requirements of the traction substation.Finally, this paper reviews some projects where this new differential relay is applied and the echo hints that it has a great application prospect in the future.
