Development of Method to Detect the Permanent Fault in Transmission System based on Transient Stability
This paper proposes the reclosing method to detect the permanent fault and to block the reclosing operation in perament fault.Because the reclosing operation jeopardizes the transient stability under the permanent fault condition, we can distinguish the permanent and the transient fault through the transient stability assessment.Thus, the proposed method employs the second-order difference of integral square error method, which is developed to assess the transient stability.To verify the proposed method, this paper models 154kV transmission system using Elector Magnetic Transient Program-Restructured Version (EMTP-RV) and conducts the computer simulation.From the results of simulation, we confirm the validity of the proposed method.
