High-speed and High-reliability Protection Scheme for EHV/UHV Transmission Lines in Smart Substation
In order to realize fast and reliable protection for EHV/UHV transmission lines, this paper presents a systematic protection scheme which combines the merits of transient based protection and power-frequency protection.The protection principle is introduced in detail, and multiple reliability measures are adopted to utilize transient fault information and improve protection performance.In smart substation, the implementing scheme to construct a multifunctional integrated IED is proposed, which can reduce the cost of equipment,operation and maintenance.Extensive EMTP simulation studies presented in the paper demonstrate the feasibility of the protection scheme
