The Discussion about Scheme of IEDs Data Model Management in IEC 61850 SA Project
During engineering of SA system configuration process, it may happen that there are different data models described by (ICD) SCL file in the same kind of IED.It doesnt cause any abnormal operation to IEDs, but to system configuration engineer and substation administrator brings more extra work and unpredictable problems.System configuration engineer has to spend more time on creating data flow connection only by manual even between two IEDs of the same type, because the data instances described by different ICD file cant be automatically and accurately identified by system configurator tool.Moreover, it increases difficulty of substation management and affects the later stages of substation construction.There are various reasons for this case, the major reason is that there is not version management information at the data type template section(DataTypeTemplates) in ICD file.Normally, the definition of logical node template (LNodeType) , data object type(DOType) and data attribute type (DAType) in an ICD file derives from the logical node class and common data class(CDC) according IEC 61850-7-4 and IEC 61850-7-3.The LNodeType, DOType and DAType in every kind of IEDs ICD file are always not the same because IEC 61850-6 does not define version element in these three types section.In order to improve system configuration efficiency and reduce operating risk, a detailed analysis of the reason is provided and two schemes about model version are proposed in this paper.
