Application of AGC/AVC in Large Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Power Station

  According to the characteristics of solar energy, i.e.randomness, intermittence, periodicity, and fluctuation,connection of large photovoltaic power generation system to grid has certain effect on grid operation and voltage quality of distribution network and HV power transmission network.To ensure safe and stable grid operation and improve quality of power supply, power/voltage control system (photovoltaic AGC/AVC) shall be configured in photovoltaic power station.This paper introduces structure, control modes, and control strategy of a type of photovoltaic AGC/AVC control system applied in photovoltaic power station, with control flow charts given.This system has been successfully applied in a number of large photovoltaic power stations such as Qinghai Germu Yellow River200MW Photovoltaic Power Station, with good effect of use.
