A Realization of HVDC Grid DC Transformer Based on AC/DC Converter
Future power grid will improve to a AC and DC hybrid grid from the present AC dominant one, but as one of the most crucial component-DC transformer has yet to be mature enough for engineering application.This article designed a new type of DC transformer, which evolved from existing available AC/DC converter, so its easier to be realized.Then the article made a refinement of the DC transformer, and came up with a new equipment for the HVDC grid —the DC TPFC,which is more controllable and flexible in terms of voltage and power flow control.It can not only realize the function of DC transformer, but also control the power flow of the high-level, low-level DC sides of the transformer and AC side.In the end, the function and performance of the DC TPFC are verified by PSCAD/EMTDC simulation.
