Research on the Equivalent Circuit Modeling of Transmission Lines and Sensitivity Analysis in Electromagnetic Transient Simulation

  Based on the amplitude frequency and phase frequency characteristics analysis, the sensitivity and applicability of equivalent circuits of transmission lines are presented in this paper, which can be as the reference for system analysis and simulation.Firstly the Г section equivalent circuit was introduced as the equivalent of transmission line and its validity was proved by formula derivation.The frequency characteristics of lumped parameters circuits are analyzed and compared with the distributed parameters circuit.From characteristic analysis, the effective frequency band that the lumped parameters circuit can be taken as the equivalent of transmission line was obtained.Considering the frequency sensitivity and model complexity, the selection criteria for analysis and simulation is proposed.The research results showed that π section has the best approximation and Г section has the simplest model equation.The proper selection of equivalent circuit can significantly increase the convenience and effectiveness for power system analysis.
