Research of Online Protection Operation Evaluation System and Framework
As the first line of defense to ensure safe and stable operation of power system, quick and accurate respond to the accident of protection devices is critical for grid security.The comprehensive protection system monitoring and evaluation system can find whether there is a real-time risk in the protection system and quickly evaluate operational status of protection after the accident by indexes given by the evaluation system, providing reference information for dispatch people to take urgent control measures and to check protection setting values.The hierarchical protection monitoring and evaluation system is established based on the research of interval protective relays, sub-station and the main station coordination.A detailed flow of distance protection monitoring and risk assessment taking the operation probability,consequence of protection and risk indices into account is further determined.Fmally, the protection evaluation of an IEEE 9-bus system is given that shows the proposed method is effective in analyzing the operation status of the protection system.
