The influence of FBG on BOTDA signal

  In order to investigate the compatibility of simultaneous time-domain fiber Bragg grating(FBG) and Brillouin optical time domain analyzer(BOTDA) technique, the relationship between FBG and Brillouin optical time-domain signal is exploited using the BOTDA.The influence of the wavelength of FBG on the BOTDA measuring results are discussed in this paper.The experimental results indicate that the wavelength of FBG was a key factor for both the frequency and the power of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS); it can be anticipated that the FBG will be a very effective tool to position for a long-range distributed monitoring over a low spatial resolution.
