Effects of CaCI2 on Sinter RDI and Coke CSR
The blast furnace is a counter current reactor which requires sufficient gas permeability in order to maintain stable and efficient operation.Fines generation inside the furnace therefore needs to be closely monitored and minimised.However,due to the depletion of high grade iron ore resources,the alumina and LOI (loss on ignition) contents of ores for iron and steel making have gradually increased and will continue to increase.While the mechanisms are still debatable,it is almost certain that alumina is directly related to the weak sinter RDI (lowtemperature reduction disintegration index).
