Thermodynamic Study on Solid Direct Reduction Process of Chromite
The utilization of solid direct reduction process of chromite has already grabbed more attention in the chromite smelting.The process can achieve selective reduction of iron oxides in chromite partly,therefore improves the ratio of Cr/Fe and realizes efficient cultivation of chromite fines.In order to discuss the destruction of spinel structure and thorough separation of chromium and iron in chromite,this paper considered the effect of different types of reduction agent on solid direct reduction process of chromite at the standpoint of thermodynamic.Results showed that the reducing capacity of solid carbon on chromite was higher than gas CO and H2.For this reason,solid carbon can destroy the structure of spinel of chromite,and even achieve selective reduction iron oxides under appropriate conditions.
