Study on the Direct Reduction of Nickel Laterite and Separation Mechanism of Direct Reduction of Nickel-Ore
This study discusses the reduction mechanism of direct reduction process about nickel laterite ore and the influence of slag composition on reduction effect.The result of thermodynamic calculation shows that the nickel in the ore can be reduced when temperature is higher than 656℃.The nickel is very difficult to seperate because of the existing form of nickel in the ore,but the reduced iron and nickel is easy to grow and form the nickel-iron particles by controlling the reduction temperature and slag types,this is beneficial to the recovery of nickel iron alloy.Based on the analysis of reduction products,it shows that the slag basicity is an important influencing factor in the reduction process,it affects the speed of nickel and iron moving to form a nickel-iron particles and also the grade of nickel-iron alloy.
