River Water Purification, Riverbed Digging and Water Resource Acquisition Using Gate Control and Streamwise Pebble Levees
Yellow River discharges a vast amount of sediment every year.Since the sediment accumulate at the river mouth,the river length becomes longer and the bed slope reduces gradually.As the result,the tractive force decreases,sediment accumulate on the riverbed,the level of the riverbed becomes higher,flow capacity reduces,and it causes the breaking of the embankment.If the tractive force is increased by narrowing the water passage through the operation of the movable weirs and by deepening the hydraulic radius through the adjustment of the section shape of the passage,the large quantity of sediment would be transported to downstream safely,and the riverbed would be stabilized.Furthermore,if the river water is reserved in a part of river course,the running-dry of Yellow River would be prevented.The purification of the river water would also be realized.Since the water channel would have a function of fishway,the ascent of fishes would increase,and the fishery resource of Yellow River would become rich.For the purpose,we propose Continuous river water Purification and riverbed Digging system (CPD).
