Study on the Eco-environmental Water Demand for the Downstream Lakes and Wetlands of the Bayin River Basin

  Northwest arid and semi-arid areas in China are the regions with water resources shortage and more sensitive and fragile system of eco-environment.Study on the problems of lakes and wetlands,such as shrinking degeneracy problem at the river terminal lakes and wetlands,etc,has been extensively attended.It is of typicality and signification to carry out the regional ecological water demand studies for the Qaidam Basin in the northwest area where the Ecosystem is very fragile and its own recover ability is also relatively poor.Based on climatic characteristics and variation characteristics of runoff in the Bayin River watershed,and focused on Lake area change and Lake ecological water resources demand calculated by the hydrological characteristics and the lagoon of Lake evaporation rate law,ecological water demand of Lake wetland of the Bayin River watershed has been estimated.The purpose is to provide useful information and scientific basis on maintaining ecological balance and economic system for sustainable development,and achieving the rational allocation of water resources in the Bayin River basin.
