Discussion on Some Technical Issues in Preparation of Water and Soil Conservation Programs for Development and Construction Projects in the Arid and Semiarid Eolian Sand Areas of Western China
The arid and semiarid eolian sand areas in Western China are suffering from severe natural conditions,where large-scale development and construction are ongoing in recent years.Preparation of water and soil conservation program for the project construction in such areas should follow the principle of avoiding disturbance of the original land surface to the maximum extent.Scientific and feasible technical measures should be taken for protection and rehabilitation,and cost-saving and reasonable programs should be adopted with the purpose of ensuring the normal operation of soil and water conservation facilities as well as preventing and reducing water loss and soil erosion caused by the development and construction activities,by such means to realize harmony of man and nature.
