Xiaolangdi Reservoir Sedimentation and Flushing Studies
The GSTARS3 computer model was modified for the simulation and prediction of the flushing and sedimentation processes of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir in China.The modifications included the estimations of recovery factor as a function of sediment particle size.The modifications also included the computation of tributary water and sediment discharges flow into and from the reservoir.Han (1980) non-equilibrium sediment transport and the modified unit stream power equation for hyper-concentrated sediment flows by Yang et al.(1996) were used.The simulated and predicted results were in good agreement with measured bed profiles,channel geometry,bed material size distribution,and flushed sediment volume.
