Realization of VR Technology-based Flood Control DSS
A flood control DSS is established based on virtual reality technology (VR technology) which can incorporate computer-based real-time simulation of water regime in the Yellow River,flood disaster assessment,and establishment of emergency flood prevention planning in one.Virtual reality technology is a kind of high-end manmachine interface which integrates several technologies including computer graphics,graphic processing,pattern recognition,artificial intelligence,network technology and multimedia technology and can generate a vivid virtual environment and make people feel they are personally on the scene from visual sense,hearing and touch.It can overcome the shortcomings of the previous flood control decision system,such as low response,high cost,more staff involved,and high error ratio.The VR technology-based flood control DSS can incorporate the virtual reality technology,geographic information system,decision support system and expert system.The VR technology-based flood control DSS is easy to use and can make scientific decisions,have high accuracy and instantaneity,as well as strong maintainability and transportability; it is an important link in the process of transition from the prototype Yellow River to the digital Yellow River.
