Application of GR4J Rainfall-runoff Model to Typical Catchments in the Yellow River Basin
Rainfall-runoff model is an important tool for streamflow simulation. The Génie Ruralà 4 paramètres Joumalier (GR4J) model is a daily lumped rainfall-runoff model with four free parameters,X1,X2,X3,and X4.For the parsimonious and robust characteristics,GR4J is widely used in numerous catchments over the world. The hydrological modeling remains to be a challenge in the Yellow River basin(YRB),the mother river of China. The applicability of the GR4J model to YRB is investigated by the test of the GR4J model in four typical catchments in the YRB,and parameter sensitivity analysis using the Monte Carlo methodology. The results show that: ①) the GR4J model has a good performance in the YRB,except the Loess Plateau.②) The model parameter X1 is more sensitive in the Loess Plateau; X2appears to be much more sensitive at Taohe River basin located in the upper YRB ; X3and X4 are the most sensitive and insensitive parameters for the streamflow simulation in the YRB,respectively.
