A Pilot Study of the Internet of Things in the Digital Yellow River Project
The Digital Yellow River project started in 2001,and it has gained significant achievement that improved the work of the Yellow River conservancy.Previous works of the Digital Yellow River project are lack of checking methods for flood control works,and the solutions of water resource management only covers the very fundamental applications.Currently,the Ministry of Water Resources of China (MWR) schedules future informatization work in the field of water conservancy.It is suggested that there should have much more to do with the technology of the internet of things.Therefore,it is possible to build up Intelligent water conservancy project,so that it would be much easier to obtain real-time water yield data and water quality data.The paper introduces the background knowledge of the Digital Yellow River project.It highlights the explanations of the framework and principle for the internet of things application in water conservancy work.It is suggested that,combined with the existed resources from theDigital Yellow River project,applications of the internct of things can construct more intelligent flood dispatching system and water resources management system,which are key parts for the proposal of Intelligent Yellow River.
