The Research for Spatial and Temporal Differences of China s Carbon Emissions and the Situation of Low Carbon Economy
Carbon emissions intensity is the most direct and efficient index for the development of low carbon economy development. The results show that the carbon emissions and the per capita carbon emissions of various regions are growing gradually, but the trend of growth has been slowed, which will be continued in the future. The spatial and temporal differences of the carbon emission intensity are obvious. The carbon emission intensity of the eastern region is lower significantly than the middle and western regions. The research indicated that carbon emission intensity was closely related to the level of economic development and industrial structure. At the same time, the carbon emission intensity of China was reduced gradually. From that we can foresee, with the raising development level of economy and the improvement of the industrial structure, the carbon emission intensity will be reduced continually. The situation of low carbon economy development can be analyzed through the relationship between the carbon emission intensity and the speed of economic development. The study results showed that the low carbon development situations of the most of the provinces in the eastern region of China are better than others, which belongs to the mode of low carbon emission and high economic growth; Otherwise, the low carbon development situations of the western regions are relatively poor, which belongs to the mode of high emissions growth and high economic growth or the mode of high emissions growth and low economic growth; The situation of low carbon economy development are general in the middle regions.
