A Novel Online Identification Method of Modal Parameters of Subsynchronous Oscillation
With the gradual extension of size and increasing interconnection among the local power grid, the HVDC and the series compensation capacitor are widely used in China, which might cause subsynchronous oscillation (SSO) between the generator units and grids. In order to analyze the SSO characteristics of the changing grid structures,an online identification method of SSO modal parameters based on rotor dynamic response of generator shaft under ambient excitation is proposed in this paper. The free vibration response of SSO modes are firstly extracted through the processing of the rotor speed deviation signal, and hereby the modal frequencies and damping coefficients of SSO are obtained to monitor the safety stability between the generator units and grids. The proposed method, which is suitable not only for large/small perturbation systems, but also for noise perturbation systems, has proved to be correct and effective by the field measure data of 1000MW generator units which located at the power grid with HVDC.
