Generation of 6PolSK-QPSK Using Dual-Drive Mach-Zehnder Modulators

  We propose a 6PolSK-QPSK transmitter scheme,which is based on one DD-MZM in each polarization component.This transmitter scheme simplifies optical components and each DD-MZM is driven by two independent four-levels electrical signals with peak-to-peak drive voltage of 3Vπ/2,which is considerable in practical realization.The performance of proposed transmitter scheme,when DD-MZMs are operated at different biased points is investigated through simulations.
