The Processing of Dummy Verbs in Semantic Role Labeling
Semantic Role Labeling (SRL) generally focuses on the verbs, while the Dummy Verbs as a special category, often appear in front of the verbs structure, resulting in the form of verb-object structure.Based on this,in some semantic resources, the Dummy Verbs are always treated as the key verbs, and then to label semantic roles. However, their meanings do not contain action, and their existence is just for grammar, not for semantics, therefore, they should be treated differently from general verbs in the process of semantic roles labeling. This paper aims to filter the dummy verbs that only play the role in the syntax, and make the real core components of the sentence fell on the corresponding key verb,so as to analyze the semantic components correctly. At the same time it also can make contribute to the SRL of PMT (Peking University Multiview Chinese Treebank).
