Manual Investigation on Context for Word Sense Disambiguation

摘要：

　　Context information is of great importance in Word Sense Disambiguation.This paper investigates how window size is involved in the process of Word Sense Disambiguation by developing a way of sense description and manually calculating the window size of context during the process of disambiguation.The sizes of context window are 2.3-1.7 for verbs,2.4-2.5 for nouns and 1.5-1.7 for adjectives.It is also found that the grammatical categories determine the disambiguation,among which nouns play the most important role.These findings can be used for reference during Word Sense Disambiguation.
