Annotating Principal Event Chain in Chinese Texts

摘要：

　　Cohesion in discourse represents not only lexical context,but also event subsequence,both of which have a close relationship in text understanding.This paper proposes a discourse annotation scheme based on principle event chain,which is derived from lexical and event chain.In this scheme,lexical chains are clues for searching principle events,while principle events in those sentences that includes words that are also in lexical chains are linked to build a principle event chain.Examples show that principle event chain represents cohesion relations in discourse and ensure consistent annotation as well.
