A genuinely two-dimensional convective-pressure splitting scheme for capturing contact discontinuity
A simple genuinely multidimensional Riemann solver using convective-pressure split Euler equations is proposed here which is capable of resolving stationary contact exactly.This method is proposed as an alternative to the genuinely multidimensional HLLC solver of Balsara (2012),where contact surface is resolved by introducing a substructure in the wave model.Several two-dimensional Riemann test cases are solved in order to establish the ecacy and robustness of the proposed method.The present solver is able to capture the multidimensional nature as well as contact surfaces in the solution exactly.
