A Study on the Effect of Marketization Process to External Equity of Executive Compensation
Under the background of economic transition and the concern of the compensation fairness,the effect of marketization process to external equity of executive compensation is explored in this paper.First,a model measuring external equity of executive compensation is established.Then with the above model a comparison of executive compensation among Chinese listed companies is made and the external equity degree of executive compensation is quantified.Finally,through empirical studies the significant positive correlation between marketization process and executive extra compensation is achieved.The results will provide reference for governments macro-control and companys internal governance.
