Mobility of Heavy Metals under Simulated Tailings and Rainfall Conditions
Control tailings pollution is a worldwide problem, heavy metals causes pollution in water, air and soil, and eventually results in serious hazard to the surrounding ecological environment and human health. All this happened need water, rainwater.Against this background, the tailings leaching principles in simulation rainwater were investigated. The tailing samples from pyrite tailings which in Lujiang County,Anhui Province were collected and the influence of rain water pH on leaching of Cu,Zn,Cd,Mn and Pb was studied. It was evident that Cu,Zn,Cd,Mn,Pb and Fe were major heavy metals in the tailings. The leachability of all metals depended on rain water pH and contact time, and smaller rain water pH contribute to higher leaching concentrations of heavy metals.
