Study on the Modified Fly Ash to Treat the Wastewater Including Heavy Metals

In this paper, fly ash (FA) was modified using fire assay method and then was used to treat the heavy metal wastewater which contain As,Fe,Mn,and Cu ions. The modification conditions were optimized based on the adsorption effects. The dosage of With the increasing of FA dosages and oscillation time, the adsorption effect also increased. When the ratio of water and FA was 3:50,the optimum adsorption efficiency of heavy metals was achieved. The highest removal efficiency of Cu,Mn and As were 90% when the FA was oscillated for two hours, while the removal efficiency of Fe reached a peak value when the FA was oscillated over 2.5 hours. All of these are engaged to provide experimental reference for the modified FA on the engineering application in the area of Wastewater Treatment. It is not only helpful to improve the utilization rate of the waste, but also to the promotion of the construction in resource-saving and environment-friendly society.
