Method Research for Determination of PM2.5 Concentration with a New Developed Vibration Sensor
This paper evaluates the existing methods for determining ambient PM2.5 concentration, including gravimetric,P-ray absorption and other measurements.A new methodology by measuring the vibration damping changes is proposed.Based on this methodology,a new type of PM2.5 sensor has been developed. The new sensor has a composite structure that consists of an open measuring chamber with a particle size greater than 2.5μm filter and a closed reference chamber. Each chamber interior has a similar vibrating mass respectively. The level of PM2.5 can be detected by measuring the vibration damping change of the vibration sensor.Additionally,by establishing the mathematical model, this paper further discusses the basic principles of the vibration sensor on measuring the PM2.5 concentration. It has been demonstrated that this measurement is stable and reliable, and with promising prospects.
