Strain Measurement Based on Base Vector Transformation

  In engineering, especially for the structural integrity, how to measure the strain of arbitral shape variation is very important.For arbitral shape variations, the theoretic formulation is base vector transformation in modern mathematics.The variations of transformation are defined as strains in rational mechanics and geometrical mechanics.For using modem mechanics in practical engineering, the engineering measurement problem of manifold transformation should be solved.This essay is mainly to solve such kinds of problem through using the tensor measurement theory.The deformation of an arbitral iron wire is taken as an example of one dimension manifold to explain this kind of deformation or strain tensor measurement method.
