The Investigation of Dynamic Free Lance for High Efficient Dephosphorization in LD-Type Converter
Abstract:The recent advance of the converter refining has been the step-by-step operation of dephosphorization,de-slagging,decarburization and slag residual, this procedure takes longer time to finish the refining cycle due to the de-slagging in between. In order to solve this problem, various means should be investigated to improve the refining efficiency and reduce the process time. The employment of Dynamic Free Lance(DFL)for oxygen blowing is considered as an alternative solution to accomplish the efficient dephosphorization and refining productivity. The water modeling of DFL indicates possible existence of three reaction zones for slagless steelmaking and the enlarged impact area of the oxygen jet is likely to increase the reaction rates for both dephosphorizationand decarburization. There is industrial evidence to suggest that game change of the injection method could improve the bath mixing for efficient refining, and the DFL has the comparable capability to reduce the blowing time for LDtype converter to achieve competitive productivity of the separate refining technology.
