Slag-Stopping Tapping Technology by Slide Gate in BOF in the Steelmaking Plant of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.

　　The control principle of Slag-stopping tapping technology by slide gate in BOF is similar to the control principle of slide gate in ladle.The slag-stopping mechanism is installed at the outside of the tap hole.Owing to the quick opening and closing(in 0.5s)of the slide gate,it can not only effectively stop the carry_over slag in earlier stage and later stage during tapping but also can judge and stop carry_over slag automatically with the help of infrared slag detection technology(AMEPA)and PLC control technology.Currently it is considered as the best technology to stop carry_over slag during converter tapping.
