Composite Structure Ladle Purging Plug with Low Thermal Stress
Ladle purging plug with uniform material and structure now is widely used in China.Plug material containing cement tend to react with CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 ladle refining slag which accelerates the erosion and corrosion of ladle plug.Thermal fracture always happens at workface of ladle plug with uniform structure because of high thermal stress.The study focus on plug with composite structure and no cement material in order to decrease thermal stress.The application of this kind plug in LF or VOD refining ladle demonstrate excellent thermal resistance due to its low thermal stress.
