Experimental Research on the Effect of Heavy Reduction on the Carbon Segregation of Tire Cord Steel Bloom
The application of heavy reduction at the end of solidification on tire cord steel bloom was investigated to improve the center segregation in bloom.According to the analysis of carbon segregation of bloom,the workpiece and tire cord steel,the carbon segregation behavior was studied with different bloom continuous casting process parameters.The results showed that the effect of reduction was the best under the condition of the bloom velocity at 0.8m/min and the thickness reduction of 20mm in the case of single-point reduction at present.Then the maximum C segregation index was 1.10 in bloom,1.05 in workpiece and from 1.22 down to 1.15 or less in wire rod.
