Fundamental Study on the Low-Reactive Mold Fluxes for RE-Bearing Heat-Resistant Steel
Due to the high cerium content(0.03%-0.08%,)and strong reducibility of RE-bearing heat-resistant steel, serious slagmetal interface reactions occurred and it was ubiquitous in the mold when common mold fluxes were used.Composition changes caused by the slag-metal interface reactions could lead to deterioration of the properties of the mold flux and surface defect of the casting billet.Aiming at the composition of RE-bearing heat-resistant steel,a new low-reactive mold flux based the CaO-Al2O3-Li2OCe2O3 slag system was designed and explored, the melting properties, viscous characteristics, tension and crystallization properties of the new mold fluxes were systematically investigated. The composition and properties of the new low-reactive mold flux for RE-bearing heat-resistant steel were determined. The results could provide theoretical basis for the development of mold fluxes for RE-bearing heat-resistant steel.
